Hand Made Chocolates

Kay, your host at Flutes, is not only a qualified pastry chef, but has also trained as a chocolatier at the renowned Savour School in Melbourne. She takes great pride in producing delicious hand made chocolates using the finest Belgian chocolate with mouth watering fillings (see pictures below). In August 2011 Kay was one of the chocolatier's at the inaugural New Zealand Chocolate Festival held at The Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington. She will be returning for the 2012 event in August. Her passion for chocolate is such that a recent holiday included a visit to Hotel Chocolat, St Lucia so that she could visit a cocoa plantation. The Rabot Estate tour was well worth the visit, and is fondly remembered.

There may well be tasting opportunities for anyone choosing to stay at Flutes !

Fruit and Nut Fudge:
Decadent white chocolate fudge with fruit and nuts encased in milk chocolate, feathered with white and milk chocolate.

Mocha GanacheMocha Ganache:
Rich dark chocolate, Irish cream and coffee centre wrapped in milk chocolate.

 

Hazelnut CaramelHazelnut Caramel:
A smooth creamy caramel and hazelnut filling inside a milk chocolate shell.

Almond PralineAlmond Praline:
Crushed praline combined with milk chocolate and dipped into dark chocolate.

 

Creamy CoconutCreamy Coconut:
White chocolate, rum and coconut centre dipped in white chocolate and finished with toasted coconut.

Dark MintDark Mint:
Freezing mint caramel centre dipped in dark chocolate.

 

Raspberry Caramel:
Luscious caramel made with raspberry fruit puree and raspberry liqueur, piped into a rich dark chocolate shell.

Strawberry BombStrawberry Bomb:
Sweet Sundried Strawberry, double dipped in creamy white chocolate and rolled in coconut.

 

 

Lime Zinger
Rich dark chocolate encases this wonderful intense liquid lime filling, with real zing!

Cranberry and Coconut FudgeCranberry and Coconut:
Milk chocolate fudge with plump Cranberries and Coconut thread, dipped in milk chocolate and finished with airbrushed design.

 

 

 

Ginger Tang:
Fresh ginger candied in sugar syrup then combined with rich dark chocolate, finished with a copper sheen

Dark Velvet Strawberry
Succulent sun-dried strawberry encased in a rich red velvet dark chocolate strawberry shell..

Lemon SurpriseLemon Surprise:
The sweetness of the creamy white chocolate cuts through the luscious tangy liquid Lemon filling in this decadent flavour combination.

Tangerine Dream:
Fruity oranges combined with a delicious buttery milk chocolate caramel & dipped in milk or dark chocolate.
