Flutes Luxury Accommodation is situated at McLeod Bay, Whangarei Heads, near Whangarei in the ‘winterless Northland’ region of New Zealand. We are just a 2.5 hour drive from Auckland (Harbour Bridge), and only 20 minutes from Whangarei airport. Our local airport has regular Air New Zealand links with the international airports at Auckland and Wellington. We are conveniently close to Whangarei, New Zealand’s Northernmost City.
There is so much to see and do on the beautiful Whangarei Heads peninsula: wonderful walks, beautiful beaches and much,much more. It is an ideal base from which to explore ‘Winterless’ Northland (For more see our ‘Around Whangarei‘ page).

- Topsail, an excellent award winning a la carte restaurant open Wednesday thro’ Saturday, is just 15 minutes drive away. It has top rating among local restaurants according to Trip Advisor and is very popular-advance booking is essential. We will happily reserve a table for you if you wish. We make complimentary transport available to Flutes’ guests.
- The Deck, a fully licensed café, is just a 2 – 3 minute walk away. Try their popular ‘Roast Evenings’ on Sundays The Deck is open 7 days a week but please note they close at 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
- Parua Bay Tavern, With its’ waterside location this award winning gastro-pub is very popular. Just 15 minutes drive from Flutes. This is a popular wedding venue for ceremonies and receptions. We can provide accommodation and complimentary transport for up to 6 guests.
